1. If you want a basic clean room and a bed to sleep in, in a good location then I'd recommend the Zara. Room was a good size and had a large bathroom, which is unusual for most Italian hotels. We stayed 6-12 June 2007 and found the airconditioning cut of at a certain time of day but management advised this would be changed soon. Buses 40 and 64 which take you to most attractions stop close to the Hotel. Louise Marshall, Australia
10-Jul-072. What a fantastic, cheaper find. For a 3 star it's fine, clean and the staff are more than helpful. It's a less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel from Termini Station, and 10 mins to the main attractions ie Spanish steps/Trevi fountain, i would advice to take the bus from the station to the further places like the Vatican, it's no 64 and only costs approx 80p!! there's one every 15 minutes. You can walk back to the hotel in approx 1/2 hr, but it is a very nice walk. Don't expect much choice for breakfast, the italians don't eat much in the morning. The rooms are small, but since you'll be out for most of the day, it shouldn't bother you. No tea making facilities, the air-con wasn't working when i went, but opened the window. Only gripe i had was the TV at night, every station was in italian, couldn't find any english speaking channel, (was after the news) but never mind. Beautiful city, you won't be dissapointed.
