1. Be aware that if you don't pay cash on arrival, they apply a charge of 4% on your card, even debit cards. The windows are old and draughty so the room was cold but reception has extra blankets if you ask. There are scatter rugs all over the place, in the halls, in the bedroom and I seemed to spend my time there tripping over them. Overall - my first impression was that the place was a bit grotty, but it is cheap and my room was spotless. One definitely can't fault the cleaners. I advise against taking the English breakfast which the Pavilion arrange through the Four Star Hotel next door: You aren't asked what you want and it was overcooked and cold - although the 'toast' was as white as a sheet of A4. After I saw the response to another guest who complained, I didn’t dare to send mine back. Definitely not worth £5.-

2. Some of the rooms at this hotel is very very small and located in the basement. Further, they all goth a shower in the room BUT the toilet is to be shared with others! This is not normal for a *** start hotel.
