1. Centrally located, between Dam Square and the Anne Frank House, and reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff. Typically Dutch, steep and narrow steps up to the reception area - would not suit elderly or infirm, but good exercise for anyone else! My room and shower room were small, but fine for a three-night stay. Highly recommended for its location and price, as long as you are not expecting 5-sar facilities. For anyone interested in history and architecture, the hotel forms part of a once-elegant (but being refurbished externally) 1890s crescent terrace which once housed staff at the nearby Royal Palace.
