1. The bathroom was more impressive than the room and opening the television cabinet made me feel a little claustrophobic. Having to pay $20 to watch a movie was a bit rich. I specifically requested a river view and got a city view instead. Checking in and out was a pain and Valet parking failed to advise us when they had retrieved our car, leaving us waiting unnecessarily when we had to be elsewhere at a particular time. Having the waiter come up to me after my dinner and asking if I would like to tip him on his hand held account machine was a bit unsettling also. Staff seemed very mechanical and insincere in their desire to assist us and generally seemed glum or overworked most of the time. I can't say that I enjoyed my stay as I didn't feel relaxed or made to feel welcomed. This was my first and last time at the Duxton. Mark Jelley, Australia
