The hotel was as we expected, it has a lot of character, good service and helpful, freindly staff- the hotel is neither typical of, nor is, a modern / sterile hotel - one of the main reasons we chose it. The slightly tired appearance of some of the rooms do not distract from its elegance or overall attractiveness. Situated in a busy narrow street in the heart of Chinatown it will not be to everyones choice but if you are looking for a hotel in Chinatown this is a good hotel to stay. 26-Sep-072. The room was in need of redecoration-the wallpaper and paint were worn and tired. The complimentary breakfast was poor. No choice;no cereal or yoghurt, no fruit offered,bread stale and the milk sour. A Danish pastry had sour custard. The location in Chinatown is excellent with great eateries around the corner e.g. the Blue Ginger. Will stay again Robert Hamilton, New Zealand
